Description

Pondball is a fantasy sport game created by Deniz Yürük. It involves six fantasy races of "little folk": Gnomes,Fairies,Leprechauns,Brownies,Sprites and Kobolds and the games are played in parks or gardens where there is a pond on the center of it. Each team is composed of 6 players: 5 fielders (positioned on the right or left side of the pitch) + 1 Starter (who bats when attacking and throws the ball when defending). A game is composed of ten Turns(innings) per team.
Points are scored by catching a flying ball batted by the Starter who is positioned at the center of the pond (on a large stone) along with the opponent Starter who is throwing. The score number depends on the number of the player who catches the ball.

The defending team,on the other hand,try to throw the ball (first bouncing it like in cricket) so high that the Starter at bat can't hit it and one of the defending fielders can caught it,giving 1 Error to the attacking team (three Errors by the attacking team means ending the Turn without scoring while three Errors by the defending team means conceding 1 point to the attacking team,ending the Turn).

Each team changes its fielding positions during the start of each Turn(inning).

The Little Folk Pondball Cup is the major pondball tournament. It is contested by six teams that represent the six types of Little People allowed to play Pondball.
It is considered a "World Cup" from the Little People.
